Overview
Atom Technologies is a managed IT service provider within the WebAcumen group, supporting businesses across South Africa with remote and onsite technicians.
Its service model depends on one capability: knowing the state of every client device at all times. WebAcumen developed the remote monitoring and management platform that provides that visibility and underpins every Atom support plan.
Requirement
Conventional IT support is reactive — a technician is called after something has failed. Atom required a platform that monitors networks and devices continuously, applies patches automatically, surfaces security issues as they arise, and routes alerts to a technician rather than a queue.
The platform also had to prove the service to clients. Every support tier includes a monthly report, so uptime, patches applied, tickets closed, backups verified and threats blocked had to be measured by the platform itself, not estimated.
Solution Delivered
WebAcumen developed a bespoke RMM platform in the class of tools such as ITarian, built around a lightweight agent installed on every desktop, laptop and server. Enrolment of a client fleet takes half a day with no disruption to staff.
The platform monitors CPU, memory, disk, patch status, endpoint security and backup health around the clock, across every device rather than only the servers. Out-of-tolerance conditions raise alerts with defined severity, and routine conditions such as low disk space are remediated automatically where safe to do so.
Alerts are assigned directly to technicians, with critical-response service levels tracked against each client's support tier. Integrated ticketing covers remote and onsite support requests, and a fleet overview gives Atom's team real-time visibility of endpoints, uptime and open tickets across all clients.
Monthly client reports are generated from platform data and delivered automatically on the first of each month.
Outcome
Atom Technologies operates its entire managed IT service on the platform, with most issues resolved before clients are aware of them and every service level backed by measured data. WebAcumen continues to develop and host the platform as the group's in-house technology partner.
